AF

I will assume you know what I mean by the title (if not check acronyms on the right). I am trying to look on the brighter side of things by actually ENJOYING her stay, the cramps, bloating, weight gain, and moodiness. I am really going to miss her for the next year here shortly, I will only see her maybe 2-3 more times! (Yes, a little sarcasm) I am feeling actually pretty good considering it is the first day, usually I am bent over laying in bed unable to move! My guess would be that is coming tomorrow (just in time for a wonderful baby shower) I may have to ditch out early, no offense Holly. I am getting pretty excited for my consult next wed. now that most of the irrational hormones are out of the way for the month I can actually get down to business! I just have so many questions and thoughts it is crazy!

Here is my list of a few:

Cost and Convenience
1. What pre-cycle screening tests are required, how much do they cost, and will my insurance provide coverage for these tests?
2. How much does the ART procedure cost, including drugs per treatment cycle?
3. Do I pay in advance? How much? What are the methods of payment?
4. If applicable, will you submit any bills to my insurance company?
5. How much do I pay if my treatment cycle is canceled before egg recovery? Before embryo transfer?
6. What are the costs for embryo freezing, storage, and transfer?
7. How much work will I miss? How much will my partner miss?
8. Do you help arrange low-cost lodging, if needed?

Details about the Program
1. Does the program meet and follow ASRM guidelines?
2. Does the program report its results to the
SART Registry and the CDC?
3. Is the program a member of the
Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology?
4. How many physicians will be involved in my care?
5. Are one or more physicians board certified in reproductive endocrinology?
6. To what degree can my own physician participate in my care?
7. What types of counseling and support services are available?
8. Whom do I call day or night if I have a problem?
9. Do you freeze embryos (cryopreservation)?
10. Is donor sperm available in your program? Donor eggs? Donor embryos?
11. Do you have an age or basal FSH limit?
12. Do you do ICSI? If so,when? Cost?
13. Do you do assisted hatching? If so,when? Cost?
14. How many eggs/embryos are transferred?

Success of the Program
1. What are MY chances of success the 1st time? More than 1?
2. What are the facilities rates?
3. Have their tools/technology been updated in the past 2-3 years that would change their statistics on SART?

Well, that is all I can think of now....does anyone else have any suggestions???
