It's ON!

Ahhhh SOOOO much info! (ok nothing new, but glad to hear it from a professional) So here is a run down of our nice conversation:

How MY cycle will work
BCP's-2-3 weeks depending on period
Lupron-2 weeks
Stimms-10 days
4 ultrasounds and 4 blood draws
HCG will be at night
Go up to Idaho the next day and stay the night, then the next morning ER
Progesterone
Wait 3-5 days go back to Idaho and ET
Then.......wait 10 days, Blood draw for pregnancy :)

Ok so that is how my cycle will go, she does IVF on the even months so we are going to wait until Feb. (which means start meds probably in Jan).

We both have to get blood drawn this month, Jeremy just has to be tested for blood type and for infectious diseases. I have to have blood drawn on day 2-3 of my period to test to see how many eggs I have left, Blood type (O-), and Infectious diseases.

I have another phone consult with Gina next tues. to discuss the financial aspect of this adventure. They estimated the following:
IVF-$8,400
ICSI-$1,500
Meds-$2,000
Misc-$1,000
I will know more next tues, but a good estimate. Oh, and they offer a 5% cash discount!!! SWEET!

We have to go up there for 1/2 a day on Dec. 17th at 1:30 to go over a BUNCH of stuff. They said that we could do it here, but we would still have to go up a day early anyway if we didn't. I would much rather just get it over now. I need to remember to call her when I start my period in Nov. so I can start my BCP's so when we go up I can get all the tests needed. When we go up on the 17th we have to meet with/for the following:

Backup Batch (uhhh, in case Jeremy's doesn't work the day of ER)

Dr. Slater: Water US to check out my uterine cavity, so she can know where she needs to place the little babies, and to make sure no new growths.

Jana: Plan-a-care, This is for all the travel/lodging/staying info. so we can have an idea of where/how long/what the place is like. She will also go over the schedule of the drugs, when to take them, how to take them (inject them should be the proper term) and all that whoola stuff.

Gina: Financing, this part is the crappy part.......taking our $. Because I am going to talk to her next week I will know exactly how much to expect.

As she was looking over my file and what not and gave me REALLY good odds!!!!!! She said that between a fresh and frozen cycle would be 85-90%!!!! I know that may be a little inflated, but come on, I am going to just go with those #'s for reassurance! She also said that an average 25 year old, with healthy organs and what not would produce 20-25 eggs, of that 2/3 will fertilize, so say we have 18 fertilize, they will put back the top 2 winners, and 60% of those who get pregnant will have a singleton, and 40% will have twins! (Happy with just 1 thanks). The odds of a FET (frozen cycle) would be about 40% chance of conceiving (as compared to 60% on a fresh cycle), but for the cost....heck I will take 40% chance! Naturally you only have 25% chance!

What a relief! She did say that I need to get Jeremy to quit chewing, and back on his heart meds, but that I think I will keep working on till the day he dies! So maybe you all could encourage him a little too???

Well, now I have overwhelmed most of your brains I will leave you with this....

I LOVE YOU ALL, AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT I CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!!!!!!!

Hi!
found you through the Stirrup Queens. Welcome to Infertility Blogland! I went to BYU for undergrad, and noticed you live in Lehi. I have heard good things about ICRM and know a few women who have used them.

Good luck!
